Chantecler Large Fowl

Buff

Created to withstand the cold harsh northern climates, Chantecler are an amazing dual-purpose breed.  Buff has always been a challenging variety to get just right.  As soon as you think you've fixed one thing, something else fades, or goes astray.   While working on type, I do have to keep color in mind with Buff.  One of the things I'm working diligently on, is to balance out the buff color overall.  In my Buff LF Chantecler, I am working on wings and type.  I have noticed that the males seem particularly human-aggressive, so that will be something to focus on as well.  Although they have not actually flogged me, they will run up and charge the fence.  Buff is not an APA accepted variety, but are still fun to exhibit.

White

Created to withstand the cold harsh northern climates, Chantecler are an amazing dual-purpose breed.  White Chantecler are simply beautiful, especially on green grass.  Kansas has really cold winters, and really hot summers.  When I first started with Chantecler, I was worried that our summer temps would roast them, however they seem to be doing very well, despite feeling like they are standing on the sun.  I have spent most of this year focusing on my Buff Chantecler, so my Whites have taken a back seat.  At this time, I am not able to share any White LF Chantecler.

Chantecler Bantams

Buff

Buff has always been a challenging variety to get just right.  As soon as you think you've fixed one thing, something else fades, or goes astray.   While working on type, I do have to keep color in mind with Buff.  One of the things I'm working diligently on, is to balance out the buff color overall.  I still see some lighter and some light / dark offspring.  Much like their white counterparts, but Buff Chantecler bantams are the perfect size for snuggling, and one of the best things about these guys, is they will make a nice meal for two.

White

There is something about the White Chantecler Bantam that simply captivates me.  Whether it's a secret affliction for white birds, the fact that they are the perfect size for cuddling, or simply that they fit in my arms just right, I'm not sure.  But I absolutely love these guys!  Although I have several pairs and some extra males, I have been struggling with fertility in my white bantams, so at this time I am not able to share.
